The Pennsylvania education community is mourning the profound loss of Molly Murphy Quinn, a beloved educator, mentor, and school leader whose passing on June 7, 2026, has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of students, parents, colleagues, and friends. Remembered for her unwavering commitment to education, deep faith, and compassionate leadership, Quinn’s influence reached far beyond the walls of the schools she served.
As Principal of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, a position she assumed in July 2023, Molly quickly became a respected and cherished member of the school community. Her dedication to students and families, combined with her warm personality and collaborative approach, helped create an environment where children could thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Born and raised in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond neighborhood, Molly’s lifelong passion for learning began at Nativity B.V.M. Parish School before she graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School, where she served as president of the Class of 1997. Her pursuit of knowledge continued throughout her life, earning degrees from La Salle University and Holy Family University, including advanced studies in education, history, and educational administration. She also broadened her academic experiences through studies in Ireland and Canada.
Over a distinguished career spanning more than two decades, Molly served in numerous educational leadership roles across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Her positions included Principal of Lifeworks Day School, Assistant Principal at Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, Assistant Principal at LEAP Academy University Charter School, and Social Studies Teacher at New Foundations Charter School. Throughout every role, she remained a passionate advocate for student success, educational equity, restorative justice, and social-emotional growth.
Colleagues admired Molly for her ability to connect with people from all walks of life. She possessed a rare combination of professionalism, empathy, and vision that allowed her to lead with both confidence and compassion. Students felt seen and valued under her guidance, while parents appreciated her willingness to listen and work collaboratively to support their children.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Molly was known for her vibrant spirit, infectious sense of humor, and steadfast faith. Even during recent health challenges, she continued to inspire those around her through her resilience, optimism, and determination.
Above all else, Molly was a devoted mother who treasured her family. Her daughter, Moira, was the center of her world, and friends often spoke of the love and pride she had for her family. Those closest to her remember a woman who balanced professional excellence with unwavering devotion to the people she loved most.

She will be remembered as a dedicated principal, compassionate leader, faithful friend, loving mother, and remarkable woman whose influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.
